The closing event of the European Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) NIPU project, was entitled “Developing and commercialising innovative chemistries and materials in the frame of sustainability” was held at the University of Mons, Le CLICK, from 18 to 21 February, 2025.
This event, structured around four thematics, provided a unique opportunity to explore the role of innovative chemical and materials technologies in the transition to a circular and sustainable economy. It was preceded by a separate discussion over the latest scientific and industrial advancements in the field of non-isocyanate polyurethanes (NIPU).

The programme includes

  • scientific conference on NIPUs and their impact on reducing plastic pollution.
  • Sessions dedicated to sustainable business models and green chemistry, featuring case studies and presentations from industrial partners
  • Workshops on sustainable funding and career prospects for young MSCA researchers.
  • A visit to Materia Nova, one of UMONS’s Innovation Centers, at the forefront of developing tomorrow’s materials in the fields of polymers and surface coatings.

The event, focused on the needs and expectations of our MSCA fellows, brought together researchers, professionals, and key stakeholders in the field, from local and international institutions, providing a valuable space for exchange to explore current and future challenges and opportunities in sustainable chemistry and new materials. A lot of room was left for discussion
